Who submitted so far?
Re: BEAT TAPE NUMBER 6
Hey eisendraht, I can contribute my 8/16-bit SP-202 model for the first square on the back cover that says "It looks like a normal gameboard..."?
Making a 8/16-bit version of the 303 and 404 will take too much time since I'm doing this while in internship lol.

8 bit basslines dont thump hard at all, even with eq
Agreed, but some 16-bit sega bass (FM synth chip) can get very subby and deep

Re: BEAT TAPE NUMBER 6
Look forward to giving this a go.Ive got a snes, a 64, an atari and a master system. Anyway what I thought was: for those of us who have a few consoles, maybe it would help out those who haven't if we uploaded some of our finds.I for one dont mind this but if it goes against the whole ethos of digging I wont upload any.Looking forward to hearing all the tracks

4th challenger has appeared!
I kinda don't want to name contributors just yet & unveil them with their tracks when the tape drops. But if the contributors want to put their hands up from here I on won't mind.
Really liking the preview covers so far!

Yeah sampling an old game through a service like this is fine. To be honest I don't really care where you sample from as long as the game's old or has an authentic retro (80s, 90s) sound.ellaguru wrote:is it allowed to sample from this cheap ass app for android tel

This is a great idea, digger's greed or no digger's greed. Asha, don't hold back sharing stuff you like but haven't sampled for the tape. Think I'll do the same with some Sonic 2 & 3 tracks I ripped but didn't make the cut (for what I want to do, they're still sample-worthy).asha c wrote:for those of us who have a few consoles, maybe it would help out those who haven't if we uploaded some of our finds.I for one dont mind this but if it goes against the whole ethos of digging I wont upload any.Looking forward to hearing all the tracks
Cool, I'll PM him & try to line something up regarding the tape. Noticed that he doesn't spend much time here anymore (last login was prob Sept 2011). If anyone knows him in person can you also try getting in touch with him about the tape? That'd be heaps appreciated.Auqs wrote:Unfolding Machines wrote:*EDIT* Anyone know who runs the Static Preservation Society on Bandcamp?

Re: BEAT TAPE NUMBER 6
OK so based on an early comment made by Ellaguru I did some research. Turns out these video game tapes have been done a few times in the past here. Don't know how I slept on them
We'll keep this as the 6th (semi) official SP Forums beat tape, the end title will be:
SP Beat Tape #6: Video Game Flips 3
For those of you who read that & don't care:
