The characters were not great. The story had a ton of holes. And the part at the end where the 2 chicks run to avoid getting crushed by the shiP, only to do a fuckin belly roll last minute and end up just barely getting crushed. That did it for me.
It was entertaining and would have been great if they took out all the bad parts and gave us a fucking alien movie. Not a documentary on the origin of human life.

there were a lot of scenes liek that, ones that would make you says wtf!
Spoiler Alert!!!
Like when that dude that was killed in the ship by the alien snake, just so happens to make it back to prometheus in some crablike pose, all dead looking, then all of a sudden he has super human strength and is high flying on some crouching tiger shit.
And the part you mentioned, she never went into shock, only looked like she was when she had some downtime. When she was running through the ship, or lifting heavy objects or outrunning a crashing spaceship, no shock, as soon as she is standing still, she is shaking and falling all over the place.
Then the pilots of the ship sacraficed their lives for the human race and made the decision in like 4 minutes flat. I thought they were going to ram the ship or try to disable it, totally didnt think they were going to run into in and kill themselves. Because of their attitudes toward such a monumental moment, i assumed they were going to live until i saw them crash. He did say "ill see you on the other side" but i thought it was more like a "if we die" kinda thing. The fucking husband drinks a drop of that alien shit and gets infected but there is no alien in his stomach, yet there was some in his sperm since he impregnates his wife. Nothing made sense in that fucking movie though there are like 30 extra minutes that they cut. But they did a botch job and the fact that i watched the original alien movie this morning before work and i somehow felt like the original wasnt that good because the prequel sucked ass, kinda made me mad because the original alien movie was the shit. Thats why i hate remakes and prequels, they do affect how you see the great movies tht have been out for years. Like the star wars 1-3. Fuck the entire star wars series because of those 3 dumb ass movies. Though i still love return of the jedi, i cant see it the same anymore.
RANT COMPLETE!!!

i felt like it was way too shallow, also if it's just a military/research base, why did they point to that in all the earth paintings showing the location? unless theye wanted to infect us or something..

But yeah, I felt like half the movie had been cut out or something.. it was cool, but I wanted more story and explanation.

yeah. I watched the first 2 alien movies recently and the androids in those flicks had something creepy about them and thought they were big parts of the movie, they were focal characters taking up a lot of screen time. But that David android looked like a fucking model and had too much screen time. There was nothing mysterious about him, just a plain GQ looking dude for him to be a sinister android. Was pretty dumb choice if you ask me.
I feel like i could go on forever since i had such high standards for that movie only to see it flop.

So I saw Prometheus the other night. Been hyped about it for a while as I'm a huge fan of the original Alien movie.

I have to say it looked amazing. Stunning visuals for sure and the 3D was great! The story was just shite though. Full of plot holes, ridiculous moments and stupid characters. Damn shame. :(

Worth seeing for a bit of entertainment though I guess.

Anyone elses thoughts?

my thoughts excactly dude, enjoyed it in the cinema but the next day actually thought about it and realised it was essentially a very highly polished turd

i didnt really get into it, it all seemed very obvious and predictable.

ALso you might be amazed to know that alot of the crazy fx were actually animatronic rather than 3d

I thought it was good actually. It really does need a sequel though, which I think they're working on.

well...i guess we'll just have to wait for the next episode by Sir Ridley Scott...
Damon Lindeloff revealed ttile could be "Paradise" and nothing leaked yet except Fox saying might be out 2014 or 2015 // Until this...dont buy any Definitive boxset edition, its f* christmas and they already try to sell us another Definitive Collection with a David's hair inside....All bulls

Sir Ridley Scott isnt the greatest director, but he will be seriously missed the day he .....

Anyway, if anyone missed those "viral" videos its pretty dope,

i'm with most of you. i thought with a franchise that good, a budget that huge, and sfx that dope, prometheus would be awesome. but i just kept feeling like it would be better after a 3-plus hr director's cut or something.

it wasn't even that scary. why wasn't it scary?
