Card theft prevention cover

Post by MotorBongo »

Just wondering about this cover. Reading page 18 of the manual while away from the freshly arrived SP-606, I got the impression it was some kind of internal blocking construction of a CF-card, secured by those bottom-screws. Returning near the SP-606 learned it simply wasn't so. But the front of the unit is sloped, so...

... well, long story short, is it just wrongly mentioned by the manual as an accessoire, or was it indeed originally included ?
Haven't seen pics of one, but it sounds like a useful thing to have.

Thanks

Thanks, so it actually exists 8) ... can imagine previous owner(s) lost this. I can ask the seller, just in case...

I copped it brand new and can tell you it didn't came with a cover like the other SPs do. I wondered about it too because no way a cover can be placed there. I thought maybe Roland got over it about protecting cards and figured if the DJ was dumb enough to leave it in there, then it deserves to be robbed :P

Thanks, this makes sense ;-)

So it replaces the mystery of 'how on earth they thought to attach it' by 'why a description about how to connect it made it into the manual and why the manual lists it as an accessoire'... 8)

Aha, so the cover comes with age & reselling ;-) Mine 2nd...3rd hand as well, so perhaps one day when I walk into the room...
;-)

Just kidding...

After all this mystery I'd like to see it - can you post a pic perhaps ?

Thanks !
