Is it true you can only resample in the same bank?

i read a post a while ago that the 606 can only resample in the same bank. i have an opportunity to get a 606 for cheap but if this is true it's out of the question.

Not sure about the 606. The 404 and 404sx it's true.

But you can just move the sample about before and after re-sampling anyway, so not that much of a hassle!

yes.
on the 505 and on the 303 you can do that, not on the 606. however, as preqwal said, you can use clipboard to copy samples from bank to bank.

really? I'm new in this stuff, but i thought i could choose the padbank on my SP606... While searching for a pad to save the sample to, only press "padbank" button and choose another padbank... Correct me if I maybe wrong with this.

Unfortunately i remember that you cannot resample from bank to bank on the 606. This is a limit of this machine (i got it too). But i would have liked to be wrong...

Only way it could work besides this easy but unavailable way is to export files and re-import to a different bank?

you can resample in a bank and then copy>clipboard to another bank...
