Max sample length ?

Post by MotorBongo »

Hi,

Please allow me a few questions, I'm thinking of getting me the SP-606 if it can indeed do what I hope it does.

Is there a max sample length for the SP-606 ?

As an extrema case, could I put one large stereo sample of say 1.5 hour on a 512MB card ? (standard grade) ...

Or would the conversion to the own Roland format also require space on the card, so they both need to be able to co-exist on the CF-card ?

Thanks!

Hi,

Thanks for the response!

OK, at least good to hear - main reason for my interest in the SP-606 is the high amount of directly accessible amount of memory from a card.

OK, but would this work ? Say first putting a 30 minute stereo wav-sample on the card, converting that to the Roland-format, delete the first WAV-file - then adding another 30 minute stereo-WAV etc ?

Thanks!

W.r.t. the mv8000/8800, I'm mainly after long sampling time & portability, so these machines are a bit heavy - in fact more heavy than the rackmount sampler I wish to avoid taking along ! :D But sure thanks for thinking along & those tips!
