hey everyone,
So i was doing some housekeeping of my SM card.
I replaced one sound with another on the card (with a card reader on the CPU).
Then i put the card in and turned on the machine. The sound that i replaced on the card was still sounding on the pad bank.
How is this possible, after i erased the sound?
And if its saved in that funky Roland proprietary folder format as i suspect,
how can i be sure its erased from there to free up space?
Thanks

Re: 505 memory allocation question
Use the internal functions of the 505 to delete and swap sounds around. Use your PC and card reader to dump/backup the Smartmedia card once it's full. I would not try to edit files using the card reader.
Also when I delete files from ANY memory card on my Mac I need to go and empty the recycle/trash bin to actually get rid of the files. If I do not delete the trash bin on the desktop the files will appear back on the memory card.
