I was wonderin does the pitch shift efx on the 303 work the same as the 404?cuzz i actually prefer when u detune a sample that the speed slows down as well like on the mp or keybpoard samplers.

Unfortunately yes. Pitch shift on the 404 is a b*tch.

Can you try chromatic ps effect? you need to set 1st and 2nd knob to the same note and turn 3rd knob to it's maximal position. Unfortunately sp 303 or 404 play double note, but it's pretty nice effect.

the processors are too week to pump out that much juice, i dont think they will ever have a real pitch shift, if you need one that bad i recomend getting a tape player with a speed control thats what i use, lots of flip flopping, its poor man speed control, hey fruity loops will work to, i remember when my asr had 120 seconds mifi sampling that bitch kicks ass, now its broken , my friend uses it for the same thing only, flip flopping inbetween sp samplers.

I would just pitch shift the sample in acid pro then, load that into the sp.

Another way for pitching is If u sample a uptemo kind of song on a record slow it down on your turnable then when u sample it in the sp speed it up a lil to how you like then if you sample a slow soulful song on a record speed it up on your turntable then slow it down on your sp once u sample it....Thats another way around the whole thing....

Yeah, using the pitch wheel on the turntable is the best.
