What microphone is best to record singing on a computer? I am searching for a microhphone, not too expensive, which can let me record myself singing with a great sound quality. I would like the high notes to not "scratch" or anything. A good studio microphone. What is best, a normal small microphone plug, USB plug? The big fat plug? Do I absolutely need a console for this?

for best quality sound you will want a nice studio microphone, not USB. Only cheap ones will have 3.5mm plugs, all the good ones have the big plug.
You will want a high quality pre-amp too, and then a decent audio interface to record through..
Whether you want this level of quality though is debatable... a $50 microphone through an average audio interface with built in preamp should be good enough.
if you're into lofi then get the cheapest one you can!
if you have a mic that mangles your sharp s's and t's ,etc.. then maybe just get one of those furry socks to put on it
