Don't wanna knock you but, how about we just make music instead of thinking of synonyms or references to certain types of beats.. It only brings confusion.

lets keep it 100 though. I dont mind peeps tryna label sub-genres as long as its intention is to organize, not to sound like their "in the know" or pretentious.

WIth that said, "beats" "hip hop" is too vague in a world where maw fuckaz want to know wtf they gettin. and im tired of saying i make

"instrumental hip hop, with synths, glitchy sound effects, off kilter dilla inspired beats and one shots spread throughout, and i often use ducking compression."

imo a popular enough style to warrant a single name instead of a description.

i agree wonky sounds wack, aqua crunk? purple sound? WTF

HnB not so bad tbh.

its like dnb or rnb, hnb maw fuckaz =D

To me its like someone asking

"ayo what kind of music do you make?"

and then i go

"i make broken beat based tracks. up to speeds of 170-190 bpm. I then layer these tracks with fat basslines over the top and various samples. I like to structure the track to have a big drop as well as an intro, break down outro. "

in other words DnB.

The way it should be is i first tell them the style name and if they dont know what it is then i explain, not the other way around.

just start throwing the term "HnB" around in your circles and it'll catch on.

think about it. Lots of great genres have the "N" in the middle

rock n roll, rnb, dnb and now... HnB

why we gona ride european trends with that Wonky name
