Hi, I am about to purchase my very first controller to use with the SP555 so sorry for the noob question. I need a controller that instead of constantly fiddling with octave and semitone transpose up/down keys, has a different templates (presets or whatever they are called) that can save and load different note number and MIDI channel configurations for the keys. Is there such a controller?
Thanks

Re: Custom note mappings with keyboard midi controllers?
you can do it with things like the padkontrol but not keyboards afaik
Samples.

+1 for padkontrol
Nicer pads + saving templates/presets, and a cool flam/roll XY kaoss like pad.

Re: Custom note mappings with keyboard midi controllers?
I was able to map and have different templates with my axiom49. It came with software that allowed you to do this. I'd google it to make sure it does what you want.
Re: Custom note mappings with keyboard midi controllers?
Formal, indeed! Looking in the manual, M-Audio Axioms can do it through 4 zones. But am not sure if it works also standalone with SP555 or it has to be connected to DAW. You used it with SP555 only? Zones are configurable on the controller itself not software. You don't have Axiom anymore to test it?
Thanks!
Thanks!

Re: Custom note mappings with keyboard midi controllers?
I don't have the axiom anymore. I only used it with computer software. The axiom keyboard will work fine without a computer, but you need a 9v power cable. The axiom does not come with a power supply in the box, only a USB cable. You will need a computer to map your zones.
