 Post subject: just coped a 404 sx and im curious tracking beats to logic 9

hows everyone doing? im curious how do you track a beat from the 404sx to the computer im working with logic pro 9 i have a midi usb cable that i would run from the 404 directly into my computer how would i record each individual sound on its own individual track im just curious is this possible thank you much im a newbie plus a little use to the mpc but the 404 is a way different monster as im finding out thank you

you could track out each channel as you're making the beat,maybe start with the basic loop(i.e drum pattern from sequence modeon the sp to get a solid bpm to work with) . .then build up all the other sounds over the top of that

maybe you worded it wrong but i don't think a midi cable is gonna do anything for you there as the 404 is only midi in not out. you could multitrack audio out or record every sound onto one logic track while muting all but one pad at a time, then chop that one region and move each part to a new track. straight multitracking is probably the quickest
