you really can't sample 3 pads at a time on the og 404? it throws my tracks off man, i don't know if theres a workaround but i have a loop that im resampling onto a new pad and try to sample a kick + drum that are on 2 different pads, to get the feel for it, but if i get to a point where i wanna do a quick kick and snare hit (both pads light up because there nearly playing at the same time) then my loop stops. the loop stopped because i had 3 pads going on at the same time.

is there something i'm doin wrong?

resample layer by layer. dont add any effect while resampling.

only use stereo when required. make sure you keep those tails short on the drum samples, mark them up. and like illfiend said, layer by layer.

why shouldn't i add effects why resampling? i change the sample and add an effect, now i'm resampling the kick and snare with the sample w/ effect on it.

when sampling in mono or lofi will that allow me to play more pads out at once? (i can't test it now - i'm at god damn work )

add effects whilst resampling, that's what it's for. Just be sure to keep the samples trimmed. resampling= 4 voices only. stereo=2 mono=1.

when you resample you can only have 4 voice at the same time

a stereo sample is 2 voice (left +right)
a mono sample is 1 voice (mono)


so you can have 2 stereo // 4 mono // 1 stereo 2 mono.

i feel so much better knowing i can fix my error now and play the drums out if i set the snare and kick to mono instead of stereo - thanks guys!!!
