Broken pads

Word up SP Fam?
I've got a pain in the ass with my 404... after four years of heavy beat making, my pads are totally fucked up... especially the most important (rec, del, resample, mark...) i must press them really hard to sound samples.. any tips?
is possible to change the pads? or i need to switch to a SX?
I don't really want buy another gear, i love my fuckin' 404... help!

it might be the contacts not touching the rubber grips, they may have shifted over time and heavy use, i had the similar problem,with my #11 pad and have improved her sensitivty,


take your machine apart, be carefull when detaching the ribbon and battery plugs. then try to remeber how the brace sits, for when you re assemble the unit.

remove the rubber pads and soak them in hot water , and use duster on the board. or wipe it off, let your pads dry completly and reasemble your unit tightly with the pads in place as good as you can. you have to do it a few times untill the pads seat properly.
