madlib morphing into quas

Post by mostblunted »

I read that madlib used to change the pitch of the track and then I just read that madlib uses the same cassette tape as I do.... so I played around with it.

It seems like:

on the right, there is a pitch wheel (right there turned all the way to the right.)

I recorded madlibs voice with the wheel all the way to the left, then played it with the pitch wheel all the way to the right.

I'll upload audio in a bit.

the first is madlib, the second quasimoto, the third lib morphing into quas

That 4 track looks dope 8)

Is this the unit the Unseen was recorded on? I heard it was done on a 4 track, and Madvillany and Further adventures where done on the digital boards. Peace, Duss.

madlib once said that he used to record his old stuff on a tascam 4 track portastudio.
There are two portastudios, 414 and 424. Dunno which one he used.

Yeah that's an oldschool trick that all the pro tools kids will never figure out. I pretty sure it was used to match the pitch of samples rather than change the pitch of a voice.
