How to loop a track?

Hi guys,

Can anyone tell how can I loop part/region of a track?

in the recorder or on a pad?

the best way i can think of (i looked through the manual, but i can't find an option for that) is record it to a pad, then set the loop on the pad. then record it again. there may be an easier way, and if you find it, let me know.

I know how to loop pad, but I want to loop a track in the mixer, because it's easy for me to adjust sample levels with faders to do a mix.
I got my SP-808ex for two days only and have not explore it yet.

you cAnt loop a track in the mixer. Only on the pads. What you can do is get a loop going on the pads then step record it into the mixer. If you hold shift and hit the step record button, you get options to step record a few measures or the entire pad. Which is great cause if you set the tempo correctly, you can lay the loop into the mixer by hitting the pad a few times and get it in sync to the tempo. I wont get into exact details of how to do all this since its in the manual but loop up step record and it should be laid out for you. Pretty simple too. You dont really need it to loop endlessly, which is a great feature, but you just want it to loop enough to adjust levels right? then you should be even good with playing a looped pad while the mixer is recording. Most multitrack recorders dont loop, they do some stupid loop record where theres a pause when it loops. The 808 just took that dum shit out of the equation.

Thanks man, every idea is good now. I've got a Yamaha RM1x where I have done a lot of nice work, but the lack of processing options such as compressing, EQing ect. is killing me, so I want to "move" the tracks into 808 and use the gorgeous FX processor and get the best of sound. My confusion comes from that I try to imagine and use 808 tracks as Cubase tracks(I use Cubase from years), but it's not exactly the same.
