I'm looking for some common techniques for a dirty sound.. I have the Sp606 and I feel it's alittle on the clean side, I would like to dirty it up some. Now I understand peepz don't what to shed out their secrets, I'm not asking for that, I'm just asking to share some ideas on dirtying up the sound.. I know it comes down to what you sample, but any type of effects that can help aid in this goal I'm trying to achieve?

Music is a moral law,
it gives wings to the mind,
a soul to the universe,
flight to the imagination,
a charm to sadness,
a life to everything,

You can resample a sound over and over. Every copy is slightly more degraded than the last, so after you've done it a bunch (like 10 or more times), you'll have a sample that's pretty crusty.
You could also try making a beat, play it through some speakers, and use a mic to re-record the sound coming out of the speakers. That will introduce all kinds of noise and dirt into the sound, sometimes it has a nice effect to it.
