help: MIDI connecting with mpd32

so i've been trying to midi connect my mpd32 to my sp404sx in order to use my mpd's pads to control the sp404sx's pads. the sp404 sx says it's got midi channel C1-16 where as the mpd says it's got midi channel CC,A1-16, and B1-16

i've never connected anything through midi so i'm super confused with this whole thing. if anyone can, could you please help me out on the connection?
