mackie interface + computer + Sp

If i have my interface acting as my Computers main sound card via firewire and i record my turntable into soundforge and chop them there and have the aux outs of the interface going into my sp 303, will recording into the computer in the first place take away the "vinyl" characteristic of the sample before it goes into the Sp 303?

In sound forge i can get my chops perfect with no clips in the start/end points, but in the past i've just been going: turntable ->mixer -> sp 303

but now that i want my chops to be perfect ill be using the pc to chop and i dont want to lose that "vinyl" sound.

the signal goes through the converters of your soundcard and then into the 303. the converters can't take away the vinyl sound. but they can colour the sound. i remember when i got a new soundcard i was surprised how much more low frequencies it could pick up. but that didn't make my music better:) i think mackie should have descent converters so there shouldn't be a problem soundwise.
