is there any way to record a sample on the orignal 404 while keeping other samples playing? i'm having trouble keeping things in time.

while i'm at it, when i'm playing too many samples they start too turn off, but too many is only about 6 or 7 on the same bank. what would cause that?

404 has awful polyphony...

the sp 555 can do this for sure. One of the reasons i miss that box. And ive never had a 303 but i think you can do this on there as well. I think ive heard someone say you can do that with that machine. Im hazy on the 505, had it a long time ago, but i thik you could record externally and play pads at the same time, in resample mode. sp 808, yes, definitely. Had a 606, cant remember, and the roland MV, yes. the 404 is like a sp with downs syndrome, but it has big tits and a great personality.

yeah it's the first sampler i ever got, i snagged one of ebay for cheap to learn about sampling. i was thinking of getting a 303 to use together with the 404 once i learn everything i can about it. then who knows, maybe i'll bump up to a 555 or 808

as stray said, use mono if you wanna use more sample.
