where do you guys find you get the most successful samples from? i'm guessing vinyl + records but i don't have money to do all that. i don't even have the 404 yet but i will buy it after askin some questions around here. so i'm just wondering do you guys go online to find samples and if so where?

the sounds i'm goin for: teebs, jonwayne, mndsgn, jeremiah jae, samiyam, onra, bahwee...you get where i'm goin.

Lofi and free: 1/4" jack to RCA out of laptop headphone jack to SP

Then its anything you find on youtube, video game samples, drum breaks, whatever.

most record stores have bins full of records for a dollar or less, its not as expensive as you think. but as far as free shit goes, youtube is a wealth of resources, also music sites like grooveshark if you have a specific song or artist in mind. and if you have a dvr then dvr some old school cartoons like looney tunes or flinstones, they actually have moments of good music to sample, any dvr has rca outputs to get a nice clean sample. basically anything on the "boomerang" network is classic cartoons full of dusty sounding stuff, just be creative

all your favorites sample from vinyl. you get where im goin.
doesnt have to be expensive if youre willing to do some prep work

Thanks to Laserbear, I have one more excuse for watching old school cartoons. Now I'll probably spend years mining them for intro/outro sound snippets, sound effects, and chase music.

If you have a VHS player, or any old videogame console, you can plug the red white RCA cables straight into your sampler. I buy random old VHS's because they are usually cheap as dirt (and I love really bad movies). VHS samples sound really cool too.

But obviously old games consoles (SNES, N64, Genesis, etc) are awesome places to get good samples from.
