yo whats up guys gonna pick up the sp-404 today and want to know where to start and begin! i literally have no idea what i'm doing but i love beats! from what i understand you load samples onto this beautiful machine, and was hoping you guys can help me find some! or just direct me on how to do this. thankkkkkkkks

I would say learn your machine like recording, resampling, how to sample in lofi, basically all the basics/functions of the machine. Then I would suggest you learn how to create a basic pattern sequence and learn about quantization. once you get that down you can start doing your thing. (assuming you're new to making beats)

well, sorry, my 404 came without the manual and i got it last night! i know it's online so i'll read it. but i meant how do you directly record into the 404 without usin the mic

wait why do you need to stay away from your computer, i dont have a record player so im always just digging on youtube for old stuff whats wrong with that, and i started out using drum kits untill i learned how to sample drums i dont see a problem with babysteps?

yeah exactly im basically working with drum loops and adding effects with the 404, and then trying to match something up with that. im not getting too far with the it yet, but its pretty fun!
