i like to add reverb to the non drum samples then throw compression over the whole track. pumps the center and lets the edges breath. drums are recordings with a mic, palm smacking a table etc... i'm sure mixing the levels with a bus engine in the background affected the overall sound

i actually sampled a game boy emulator on my ds, can't remember the name of the game. something to do with a sword...
