Ipod to SP404 midi tempo app

Post by 1_inch_punch »

Hi,
I noticed Yamaha has a free faders app for ipod - there is a MIDI in and out rig you can buy that attaches directly thru the Ipod connection.

Anybody has any experience with this (?) - would be happy if it worked simply just as a Tempo BPM clock for my 404.

I have a Midi thru box that would let me synch an old drum machine to the 404... I have another 404 with f*cked up card reader - that was going to be used as FX and slicer for the drum machine.

I have the faders app on my ipod but it looks like it's for more sophisticated Midi control rather than just a bpm clock.

I have beatmaker 2 on ipod - could I just open a file and set the bpm on that and that would send the signal to 404?

or maybe it would do that with another app?

as you can tell, i know nothing about midi.

I have a netbook so if anybody knows of a cheap software that would do the same thing that would be cool - I could get a usb to midi out.
