I used to have a sp 555 and loved using it, but it drove me crazy that I couldn't record a single long track with other samples playing. So I decided to trade my SP 555 for a new Boss RC 50 which would allow me to do just that, have two tracks looping and then add a third long track... but I want more. I find having only three tracks really limiting to my process because of the way I like to build sounds over time bit by bit and drop phrases in and out. I really liked having at least 8 layers of polyphony.
So I have been thinking about picking up another sp 555 so I can sample the output of the rc 50 into a pad on the sp 555. Then I started thinking about sync issues. How would I make sure that the start and stop points stay tight since you cant really quantize the start and stop time when sampling on the sp 555. It has been a little while since I had the sp 555 so it is a little foggy as to all the ins and outs of its functionality.
I want to be able to take what I have made on the RC 50 and be able to trigger it on a sampler so I can have more room to build more layers using the RC 50. Each time I build a layer, just send it over to the sampler and not have to worry about it falling out of tempo with the RC 50. Are there functions within the SP 606 that might allow for me to pull this off? Set a time signature, BPM, and duration all while having it sync'd to a master clock? Maybe another brand of sampler? I would really love to hear how other people have solved this problem I am trying to figure out.
Thanks!!!
What sampler should I use with a boss RC 50 to expand it?

kp3 - capture your rc50 loops to one of the 4 loop slots
both machines can sync each other + you can do live-resampling on the fly, without any breaks à la 555

you could consider getting another rc-50. i believe you can direct different phrases to different lines out, so that might work for you. lots of tracks, plus you can practice yr tap-dancing
in my set up i have an rc-20xl & an rc-30. one loops guitar, the other loops the synth & a 404. nothing is midi sync'd. my timing is pretty solid, but worst case, i just re-trigger when things begin to drift.

if you really want a pedal looper i'd go with the rc300 over the rc50...
