Re: how many of you regretted buying the SX when you found out..
My GF has a 303 and I have a 505/404. The 303 and 505 vinyl sim are similar and not as good as the og404. The flutter is weird and the compression isn't as punchy. I've been running the 505 thru the 404 vinyl sim if that tells you anything.

Haven't used the SX but kinda want one. Is there anything in it that makes up for the lack of vinyl comp? Digging the storage capacity of SD cards (dj set in a box). Are there any new effects and are do they have potential?

aside from what you mentionedpretty much the differences of the SX compared to the OG are....
effects:
-slightly different layout
-no vinyl sim comp
-MSX14 on og = "LO-FI", MSX14 on sx = "BIT CRASH"
-lo-fi recording effect on sx can be turned on & off w/out resampling
quickness:
-no need to export samples. you can copy them directly off of the card.
-faster to delete samples
-"function" instead of "workarounds" with the button combinations or whateva. i.e pattern copy, exchange etc.
sound quality:
-maw fuckaz say that og sounds dirtier due to the audio being "compressed slightly" when its sampled in. sx is said to have a more "you get out exactly what you put in sound". i.e doesnt color the sound.

Thanks fam, excellent run down. I think in the end I'm going to end up with one of each and call it a day. I've had a few SP's by now but the og 404 was my fave and the SX sounds like it has enough benefits to justify a duo.
