Krk to OG sp 404

YO HAS ANYBODY EVER TRIED TO HOOK UP KRK SPEAKERS TO AN SP THROUGH 1/4 STEREO TRS CABLES AND A SPLITTER TO hook THeM BOTH UP, I TRIED AND HOOKED IT UP TO THE PHONES JACK AND IT DIDN'T WORK UNTILL I PULLED THE SPLITTER OUT LIKE 2 or 4 mm out, IT'S NOT THE SP OR THE SPLITTER BECAUSE I TRIED IT ON A 303 AS WELL. ANYWAYS WHAT'S THE BEST WAY IF ANY TO directly HOOK UP AN SP TO KRK's (with out interface) OH AND WHAT WTF IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN BALANCED AND UNBALANCED WHAT DOES THAT MEAN???

Don't use a splitter as it will send the same signal to both speakers, thus you won't get a stereo image.

I would use the phono rca out at the back and connect them up to your KRK's. Not sure what input the KRK's have, but I assume them to have mono jack inputs, therefore you will need a phono rca to jack cable.

In simple terms, balanced cables are better quality, but as the 404 doesn't have balanced outs it's not important.

if the side of the splitter that goes into the 404 headphone jack has two rings on it, it is stereo, not mono

The cable yoyo posted will work from the headphone jack.

Using the regular output You just need 1/4" to RCA cable. It's pretty common.


RCA goes to line out on the SP and 1/4" goes to monitors.

OK DOPE DOES ANYBODY KNOW IF USING THAT RCA TO TRS WILL AFFECT THE SOUND AT ALL? OR IS THAT 1/4in. Trs Y CABLE GOING TO BE A BETTER WAY?

They will sound the same, you won't notice a difference.
