Does this happen when triggering (Sub Pad+Pad) or just when retriggering (Sub Pad)?
I've noticed glitches when using Sub to retrigger samples (Playback Mode), same thing that happens when you hit the corner of the pads - sample doesn't play right everytime, useful for double hits if you manage to get it right (glitch was talked about before, it's on one of those 404 workflow/demo videos on youtube).
I don't remember that happening when triggering with Sub+Pad.

thought we were talking about triggering patterns (sub pad + 1-12).
never noticed anything weird re-triggering samples with just the sub pad. only that the sub pad is more like the 303 pads (less resistance and easier to press), so there might be less hiccup there with the sub pad

Yeah, that. I haven't noticed any glitches but I haven't done it too often, might do some testing later. I'm using the 555 but I don't think it's any different using Fixed Velocity.
I assumed some were talking about hitting a pattern then hitting Sub to retrigger that.

Edit 1: double post.
Edit 2: Forget about that, Sub Pad only works combined with a pad in Pattern Mode... You guys are right though, it seems to glitch unless you hit a pad exactly on beat.
Say you have a beat with hat+kick; hat; hat+snare; hat - unless you hit exactly on hat+kick/hat+snare the hat after that will sound then be cut off and then pattern is retriggered from start.
For pads and stuff it wouldn't be much of a problem, like you said.

Re: Mute Group Trick No Longer 'Ghetto'!!
yeah my original idea was to do the drum loop resampled on a pad, just looped up, not being triggered by the pattern sequencer. then just melodic samples (without drums) would be individually triggered through the sequencer.
i thought that's what you were alluding to in your reply in that other thread when you said "delete mode or pattern sequencer" for mute tricks. a stroke of brilliance, cause its the complete opposite way i usually approach doing beats on the 404, which is to use the sequencer to build a drum loop, then trigger melodic samples manually with pattern mode off
