I just peeped some of your tracks, good stuff man!! There is so much great talent on here. When I was on some other boards, it seemed to me that everyone was crying about what their machines couldn't do. I love this forum, no crying, just people throwing down dope music. Keep it up!!

Thanks yo
That was part of a themed beat tape I did with my boy El Shupacabra called Aroostook Overtones. We dug up mad records recorded and released in our home state (Maine) an used strictly those to create this instrumental project from the drums to the bass etc. It was a difficult feat due to the fact that Maine isn't exactly a hub for music or bands, and a lot of the old local stuff you could find is country music. We came up on some gems tho! Cough In Smoke is another off that project. I sampled a jr high Chorus record from my home town from the 70s primarily in that one. I believe most of his material was done on the 404, so ill see about posting a dl link to the whole joint!

Also
Roygbivs everything on that page is done in the sequencer. Sometimes I use the resample technique, but I like having the option of having all my sounds tracked out For the engeneer if I (or who ever buys a beat) want it mixed and mastered because when it comes to mixing and mastering I know nothing on the technical end of things all I've ever really used is the 303 and the 404 period. Not good. W daws, multitracks etc...one area I really need to step my game up in

all in the 303 eh, very nice. Always surprises me the dope ass shit you can do with one sp machine. I need to just pull myself away and focus on one machine. Really get to the heart of every sample chop, you know. Definitely an inspiration. Nice beats!

Thanks man. I got my first 303 when I was about 12. I found it @ a surplus and salvage store. They didn't know anything about music gear. They had one 303, some ineresing tiny drum sequencers on a rope that wld hang from ur neck like a stop watch, and what I new believe was an mpc60 I just remember thinking damn that thing has a floppy disk drive and is 3x the price...ill go w the 303
Anyway it was all I could afford really till now so I used it as well as I could and I'm glad I did. I picked up the og 404 and don't dig the sequeencer (except the way it changes sequences its self on tempo) don't dig the sound as much and definitely don't like the effects as well (except using distortion to mute samples insttead of thee c cancelor, which doeesnt really work on stereo samples)
Unforunately I'm on my 2nd 303 and its buttons are all mashed in and the vol knob on tthee right has a serious short. I've got to find someonee who can fix it.
Now. That I'm adjused tto all thee banks and pads on the 404 it'll be interesting to go back. To the 303's limited pads. Itll be good tho. I miss the sound and feel.
