i've been recording my sp-303 stuff with an RCA-to-1/8 inch stereo cable into my PC-laptop's standard inbuilt soundcard (to Reaper).
I'm looking to increase the quality of my recordings, so am trying to decide on an interface, and have a question hopefully someone can help out with...
I've noticed most of the audio interfaces i've looked at (eg. focusrite scarlett) don't have the same RCA-in/out's as the 303, so I assume I'd use a RCA-to-1/4 inch cable... but i've seen a couple of interfaces (eg. Tacam US-100) that do have the same RCA inputs as the 303.
so my question is, does it make a difference to the sound quality which cable I use (ie. RCA-to-RCA vs RCA-to-1/4 inch), and should this influence my choice in interface?

Re: recording sp-303 into pc; cable & interface help
As long as they are line level and you make use of good cables/adapters, it shouldn't make a difference.
Most mid to high end intefaces will have RCA inputs along with 1/4 inputs (as an extra option) and most low end "DJ" interfaces are RCA only - it should be more about the converters and preamp quality than anything else anyway.
The only other thing to mind is that SPs - like KPs - work at "consumer standard" -10dBm while the "professional standard" is like +4dBm. Most interfaces have a way to accommodate this, so it shouldn't be a problem (it's either a pad to choose between the two or they can take anything in between these values).
