SP303 loop

Thanks sp303 fam (Codename Ape) for the acappella. I made this simple loop with a drum break, a bass guitar and the SP303. I didn't have enough time to make a song, just a quick loop. After working with the SP303 for a few weeks, I'm still shocked when I can record a few notes or a chord into the sp303 and get so much sound from it. It really is a treasure!!! My sp303 is my best friend.

I dig the beat. It's simple. And dope.
Got a slight gyrate cadence with some twist of the knobs that isn't overdone or too blatant.

I like the choice of acapella to put over the beat. That rap was made into a nice laid back and zoned out remix back in the day by Frankensteeno on a old Wild Pitch record.

With the clip noise being prevailent throughout the drum loop, it's obvious you snatched the drums from the original OC "Time's Up" track. Which is kind or a no-no in my book for sampling a sample.

But for just a quick made, messing around type beat, it sounded tight.

MattCoops, Thanks for the break down on the beat. You are spot on. I threw some samples that I made with a bass guitar, guitar and sp303 over an old famous drum break (not a hiphop beat). IIRC I might have pitched the drums down a little too. The acappella is dope and I really wanted to see what It would sound like over some of my samples. I didn't spend a lot of time on the loop. I will post the full beat when I have some time to finish it up.

So far with the SP303, this is the only Beat that I have.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KtbBLcnRGmw

Please continue to give me feed back on my beats. I want to learn and hopefully be able to make some good beats, like everyone else on here. This forum is kick ass.

The drum beat you dropped on sounds like "Its A New Day" by the Skull Snaps- it isn't a rare break (still a classic though).
