Basically, if the 404 had a built in 4-track recorder (that you could resample the final mix) and the ability to resample/record external outputs (at the same time), that would be a wrap for me.

It would be dope if it had a little built in monotron type deal (but with tiny keys, not a ribbon controller) that had monophonic saw, sine, and square waves so you could add bass.

yo, i been messing with the remain button + isolator mute, for poor man mute groups, it gets a little complicated and buggy switching banks, but if you have your main samples in 1 bank, its a peice of cake, it totally changed the way i use my 404. I know everyone knows this, but i recently adopted this technique and works good,

i'd like to see the same things as everyone else, resample sequencer, real pitch, ect, ect,

but my 224 and 404 combo wins, and i got a new daw setup on my laptop which sounds better than anything i ever had so im happy and no more poor man tape sound.

404 with a sequencer similar to the 2000xl, simple step edit and BPM to the tenth instead of whole numbers only, wouldn't care to much for multi tracking if i could pan individual pads efficiently, also velocity sensitive, more so in the step edit functionality so i didn't have to copy a kick a couple times to get a few different volumes, a way to save sounds so that they didn't have to always occupy a pad, but i could call them up and cycle through them to try out different sounds, horns, percussion, whatever over what i was currently working on, and the ability to pitch those sounds in the machine, i'd be happy forever, pretty much some sort of midi sequencer and a sampletrak, 202, or 2000xl would make all that possible for me though, and i plan on grabbin all of em at some point in the future anyway

404 pretty much as is, with the ability to do actual pitch shift with the knobs. If I had that it would be ill.

Other than than that an updated version of an ASR-X with all the effects

I'm not hard to please.

404sx with a way to pan shit.
maybe a little bit more poly when resampling, even 6-8 voice would be cool.
resampling with the input.

maybe 2 different out (not like mic and line that are exactly the same, more like way to kinda multitrack shit. would be cool for live performance, like being able to fade/eq your sample with a DJ mixer.

i'd like to see my 505 have velocity/pressure sensitive pads, higher polyphony, and maybe like 6 or 8 tracks instead of 4. also a little bit more manipulation of the drums sounds such as panning, instead of all the way left or right. oh and also the ability to sample something while the sequencer is playing a beat so i can get perfect timing with bass guitars, synths, etc. but, i still love the 505 for all its stock sequencing and resampling splendor.

on the 505 your allowed to spin the wheel while recording to the sequencer, to fake velocity.
it takes some practice to spin the wheel and program notes tho,

I would like the sp to have a quick-key that lights up whichever pad you sampled onto last. I wish I had a dime for everytime i resampled to another bank, then went back searching for the last pad i used. short-term memory you know

I want a 12 bit sampler with a monome grid where you can mlr style freak your programmed sequences rather than just loops. The grid would also double as tr style sequencer and mpc live pad recording style. Copyright Virtual Flannel Instruments 2012.

Seems like you need an sp 808! Has a bass synth in there as well. Analog and digital. 4 track recorder, resample the 4 tracks and other pads, onto a pad.
