i don't know...obviously everyone knew this was coming, but is this too little too late? looks fun, but seems like at least $400 too much...other than the fact that it's an MPC how is this so superior to maschine that they feel justified in charging more than double the price?

looks fun, but $300?

Not too late, but I'd say all (MPC Renaissance, MPC Studio and MPC Fly) are too expensive and too much tied to a beefy PC. This might not matter to many that are already making heavy use of a PC, but so far I'm not inclined to jump on this at all.

Many also seem to think of the Maschine as a far better choice so far. At the very least more reasonably priced!

I actually think the MPC Fly with an iPad 2 makes the most sense, velocity sensitive pads with after-touch and a decent app will make it sweet for beatmaking on the go. Don't know why, but the hardware part is iPad 2-only. Won't work with iPad 1.

But that's about it.

After selling some unused things, I copped an iPad 2 for 250 from some igeek dieing to get the retina version for double the price and then some... I've been dabbling with nano studio the past couple months on my phone which provided me with some long distance inpiration. the iPad music apps are overwhelming... I need to cruise through that ios post and research what's good.

If this fly app is decent and can externally sample, I would possibly splurge on the pads. It will probably be the closest ill ever get to an mpc ..if my mpd can be midi'd up that would be a bonus. As for the renaissance.... I couldn't justify the price to do 'sp' style microwaved beats, ableton seems like a more viable solution if you want to incorporate computers.

When's this shit due out!?
