Stop record automatically after sample played when resamplin

I've been reading this forum for an hour and didn't find anything on this topic. Is there a way to simply resample a sample without to manually press rec to stop recording after my original sample played ? I mean, let's say I have a nice loop but want to resample it with an effect applied to it, I don't want to resample it and having to re-mark it afterwards, know what I mean ?

the 505 does that, but i dont think the 404 does. You gotta hit that rec button to stop the loop.
