DR-202 Groove not working?

Literally when I press the Groove butting and turn the dial to select one It just flashes "not working" really quickly on the LCD and when I record it doesn't apply the groove also when I go back its turned off anyone got any idea what could be going on?

That's super wierd. Does it work without any groove mode on?

Yeah everything's working I can record and such like normal but for some reason when I press the groove button it quickly flashes "not working" can't figure out why it would be doing this unless I'm doing something wrong here

Try recording another part in a really basic fashion, like 2 mesure, 4/4, no quantize, 90 bm. Nothing complex and try it out.

could it be something to do with midi settings, like setting it to external sync or something like that?

my dr202 also started totally tripping out which is when i switched to zoom drum machines and i am way happier

I don't know what I did but I got the grooves working it still flashing "not working" really quick every time I press it but they do apply to my beats now which is what I want
