Record Stores in the Amherst, Massachusetts area?(or Boston)

Post by Kamelops »

Any one know of any good spots in or around Amherst? Already found out about Mystery Train Records in Amherst but nowhere else..

Edit: I'd be willing to venture as far as Boston, although I've heard the records are overpriced there.

the record fair they hold there is dope!! grabbed some excellent selections last time i attended, its usually in december if i remember correctly......

i don't know about amherst, but nearby towns definitely got some good stuff to offer, one of them being north hampton, check out turn it up, and then down the street there is a higher end shop that had me droolin like a dog, but they're prices are high cause they know they got a dope selection, there was also a dealer at the fair from north hampton, i think he went by "main street records"......just looked it up...... http://www.mainstrecords.com/master.html
not lookin like the greatest selection, only checked k under soul, but he seems to have mostly 7" for all the preferred names, maybe contact and see if you could check out his stash in person, i've meant to do that in the past, never know what he has compared to what he has time to put up on his ebay store, pretty sure i bought some dope stuff off him at the record fair when i went though, i also remember checkin out some of the surrounding towns and findin 1 or 2 more shops, check out north of you into vermont as well, i think there are a few stores spotted around up there, including 2 more turn it ups, one in brattleboro and one in keene, the one in brattleboro having a much better selection, enjoy homie, just don't tell all your friends and leave some choice selections for me!!!

it was in december the last two years, so i would assume it would be in december again, usually the first weekend i believe, but here is a useful site to browse and plan trips with, cause these things are usually pretty fun, some high prices and an overload of good shit (although there are pleeenty of reasonably priced albums and cheap bins as well), it can be overwhelming at first, but they keep me coming back and blowin all my cash

http://www.recordshows.net/

the first one is more north east centered, but apparently everything they do plus alot more from all over the country gets posted on the second site which they just put up not to long ago, this is where i had originally found out about the amherst one and more that i've gone too, tons of great dealers involved in these, enjoy man

EDIT: looks like amherst does a spring record sale as well, saturday march 31 is the date, if my pockets are fat at the time i might venture out
