Reasons to buy a 404sx if you already have SP555, others?

For some reason the 404sx has caught my eye even though i'm flooded with samplers in my house.

I like the AA battery thing (don't know how I didn't know that before), as well as the plain wav loading (no compression like 555) and supposedly slightly better effects. Especially comparing to 555, what are some reasons if any to get a 404sx?

Also getting some annoying knob jitter on my 555, but I'm wondering if that happens to all the SPs over time....

sx is super fast because of the sd cards, there's almost no delay when doing things like after recording a sample, deleting or resampling etc. and you can go bigger than two gigs so make lots of backups when on trips or away from your pc/recording gear for a while

Agreed the battery power is a boon. Just check about the compression. I would be surprised if the 404sx didn't compress on import like the rest of the series.

^ yeah the SX doesn't compress, that's one of its selling points and unique among the SP series I think.

Well i got this bad boy yesterday , and I have to say at first I was a little slow to adapt (very used to 555 workflow) but now i can't wait to use it again....
Initial impressions:

1. faster to do stuff than on 555/505
2. The filter is kinda meh...wish it had a HPF/BPF but I guess you can kinda use isolator for that
3. Sound is *clean* but if you put in dirt you can get it gritty.
4. reverb is nice, at first i was missing the other types from 555 but this one is very usable and musical.
5. the 555 spoiled me on loop capture, I used that for all my resampling and loops...but resample on the SX is super fast and has got me thinking in different ways....
6. Miss the LoFi comp on the 555, and the Vinyl comp on the 505
