What a rebooted thread... I used to go nuts for anything old on Ninja Tune & Mo'Wax but a lot of that stuff sounds dated now. Seems the jazzier the sound, the worse it ages.

Some 90s/early 00s stuff worth finding even if its not all instro:

other scorn albums: colossus and gyral (and maybe plan b too)
techno animal album(s) are nice too.
