batteries run out even if its not plugged in and turned off?

so i once thought that if you left batteries in your sp404sx then power gets used even if its plugged into an electrical socket.

but now im realizing that, if you load batteries in your sp404sx and leave it off.... for some reason power seems to still get consumed wtf?

last night i loaded my sp with brand new energizer batteries. used it for like an hour. turned it off. this morning turned it on... and its saying battery low.

basically anytime you load your sp with batteries take them out once its turned off

I have not had that experience at all? I hate to question your battery skills, but are you sure they were fresh? I wonder if something is wrong with your SP?

I've tried eneloop rechargeables in my 404sx and it just hates them..

I use a folded up posted note placed in between the last battery and the contact to break the connection.

This ensures the batteries aren't being used until I remove the post it note
