another 404sx or something else?

i know this type have been asked to death but whatever.

someone in my area in selling a 404sx for 250$ and i've been looking to add another sampler to by gear mainly to be able to keep a drum part on loop and be able to jam on the other machine and create while my shit is playing, then sample it with the other sampler.

I LOVE my 404sx and I've used 303s and su700, and I know it would be easy with this machine but on another hand i'd like something else that can alter/give a different flavor to my sound.

I've been considering MS1 / SU10 / 202 / 303. thing is I don't really wanna pay over 150-70 for my second machine, but a 250$ 404sx is still a steal. Loop pedal maybe just to be able to loop my stuff?

If that help, i mainly make beat the resample way so sequencer is really not a must. I kinda make glitchy shit and like to jam ambiant stuff with my friends.

a 2nd 404 will probably be pretty dope.
i like the 202 in combination with the 404 because it can do "real" pitch shifting. and on point reversing. and...

You could buy a korg microsampler....limited sampling time but you get the effects of a kp3(although not so fun to mess ,as the pad of the KP3) and pitching ,plus many keys to trigger sounds!

also have a 404 (og model) and can't decide what to add to the setup!
considering 303 (owned before), 202, zoom sampletrak or another 404.

yes this has been discussed before in 'other gear' but does anyone have anything else to add about combining these models specifically (or the cheap yamahas)?

ahaha i was on my way to some place and saw a pawn shop, got in, and spotted a 505, it was like 300. I told him if it would be 200 and working i'd get it today.

The guy try to find but couldnot find the power cord. I told him i would never buy that shit for 300 without knowing if it works. So the guy tell me that I have a 30 day warranty (yeah.. pawn shop warranty) and asked me how much i'd pay for it, I said 180 now cause he doesn't have the powercord.

The guy wasnt too sure but after 15 minute of talking with him they guy said ok.

Soooo I guess I got my other sampler now....

Oohh and yeah so I get home, check in my roomate band gears unused shit, that dud as a big ass effect pedal that use the same wire I need. SHIT WORKS. DOPE.

i'd suggest a recorder first... you'll get your mute group, more mixing+ mastering options and you can get rid of the polyphony limit also...
just jam everything into the recorder; loop it - et voila - supershit!

the 404² is dope; no doubt... but i think there should be a recorder first.

( i had the 404² before i had a recorder so that's my view now )

Like 10-12 yrs ago I remember an issue of BPM magazine with Del the funky homosapien rocking beats on the sp505. He was sitting on a hardwood floor with it. Don't have the magazine anymore and my memory is rusty these days, but I certainly remember that much.

I guess Del isn't cool anymore lol.

i used to have this del dvd called the 11th hour it was sort of a 'making of the album' documentary. circa '07 or so. but he definitely reps the sp505 hard in that
