first post on the forum, so excuse any ignorance
i've been trying to record from my sp straight into the computer via RCA line out to 1/4" line in on my firestudio mobile. I'm using a 1/8" to 1/4" adapter to plug into my interface. But i can only get it to record mono and the recording is choppy and weak. any ideas whats going on?
i've seen this question around the forums but how do you guys get your stuff onto computer? in stereo? Up until now, i export samples onto the CF card and transfer each sound to computer manually.
what i'd like to do is just be able to record into a daw, multitracking with the 404.
any advice would be greatly appreciated.

your converter is probably mono. try to find a stereo 1/4" to stereo 1/8" converter
Re: sp404->computer woes
Ah I see. I'll check on that.
is it possible to track out through spdif? from the 404?

Re: sp404->computer woes
I'm curious about this sort of workflow too.
I have an audio interface and a macbook with Reason 6. Should I hook the SP to the interface to the laptop for use with Reason 6? Should I do midi or RCA cables?
Just wondering.

Re: sp404->computer woes
No to the spdif as that's digital and sp404 doesn't have it.
No to midi.
Yes to RCA or stereo 1/8" or 1/4" to your built in sound card or audio interface.
I just use built in sound card on my Mac mini as it sounds as good as other USB interfaces I've used.
Keep it simple
