Same here, but I must admit that I was struggling somewhat with the sample when it comes to building a melody type sound texture.

I got the drums going and liked it, but I ran out of time searching for a way of getting a good melody going. Its not the samples to blame though.

I had layered the sounds on microsampler and I thought it would be easy to sequence them in the computer with Reaper ,but I was mistaken!...so I'll upload my progress another time just for getting some feedback...

oooh tough one. i dug endos reggae inspired beat, gis_sweden's vibe, and hseiken's boombastic beat, but in the end had to go with admbmb's beat, it had great chops.

That's a good plan korakios, that's meanly the reason why I took part in this battle. on top of that it was an OPEN battle..
Hrm..
here's my feedback:
-Gis : It has a nice feel to it, even if it's not catchy at all, i kind of favor this.
-HiveMinded: Starts promissing, and it got me waiting for the drums to kick in, but when they did it was a dissapointment.. For the Meters-break being such a classy...to bad. The vocal sample is excellent.
Adambomb: this is a rich piece, containing a lot, but lacking consistancy, in my opinion you took it too far
Hseiken: This has great vibe and feeling, but i find this to short, feels a bit as obligatory drop.. still good
pt3r: how come nobody noticed the well balanced headnodder with a clean structure? you can easily layer any vocal on top.. some cats need their ears checked, or widen their views, tell me why this is so different from the rest?
My vote goes to pt3r.
