when mixing down a track should you start with the low end first? or just with whatever element is supposed to be the most prominent?

That's totally up to you I personally start with low end (just works better for me)

just remember: the louder your sub frequencies are the quieter your overall track will be

thanks for the replies fellas. at first i was mixing down shit by starting with the most prominent element but the other day i tried listening to some stuff of mine on a car stereo and the bass was waaaaaaaayyyy too powerful so i was thinking of maybe starting in that department.
