question on resampling on the 404

hey, does anyone get this? when you resample on the 404, and you apply an effect, say isolator, it then whacks up the signal so it peaks on the resampled pad. I've tried messing about to stop this but can't work it out, does anyone know what i'm on about and if so do you know how to avoid this?

Turn the level of the original sample down. Add fx then resample.
