Right now i'm working with SP 404 only. Have that hooked to my soundcard for recording, midi to alesis Q49 and record in from turntable. Just working with samples and 404 only for the moment. I normally use my sp 303 into MPC and finish stuff off in that.

I really want to produce some full 404 tracks- All sounds run through the Sp. Not sure about fully sequencing in it though - maybe just get some long loops and shorter ones and chuck in a folder on my comp and then build some tracks from the sounds...

hmm, any thoughts,

Regards

FD

its not the easiest way, but just make yourself do it (full song on SP)....you'll end up learning more about the machine, learn how to filter/EQ/compress to get the mix right, etc.

doing everything in the SP404SX. sampling from boss Dr202, korg MS2000r, cassettes, youtube and built in mic.

BUILT IN MIC IS SO UNDERRATED.

love the fact that i can complete a song in the machine, pop the SD card, export to soundcloud/whatever.

Experimenting with different re-sampling techniques on my 303 and trying to put together some tracks!! I've been listening to some of Morbidly Obeats' and Blavatsky's production work like crazy. I'm attempting to perfect a fatter and heavier drum sound like these guys.

404 is main everything, pitching is done with sample trak, makes life more happy.

i also use the 404 + mic + fx, so create syntheziser sounds,

and then pitch them in my sample track.

I record the final 404 beat to tape, and then sample it back into the 404.

because computer recording doesnt work.
