Glitches/stutters during Re-Sampling

Post by Sinapse »

what up

any of y'all ever experience what I can only describe as stuttering/glitching of what you are resampling, like looping tiny pieces, obviously messing it up - it only happens after around the 3 minute mark when I'm resampling a beat - but NEVER when recording a beat from an outside source - only during resampling. box is working fine otherwise...maybe I need to reformat my CF card? I also get a weird "memory full" message even when nothing is happening but it doesn't impact anything...hoping my 606 isn't sick

maybe it's the card.
but once i rebought a second hand sp606, it was totally mess in "memory full" garbage messages. so i retourned to the shop and they reinitialized the machine, not the card (it were'nt one inside).

thanks Ella

I think I'm going to back up everything on my CF card then format it, and also reinitialize the machine - I'm sure the info on how to do so is available online, anyone else has anything to chime in on?

Yo, I don't know about reinitializing anything but formatting the card is a good idea. I had to do it last week.
Everything is working fine now... I haven't resampled more than a minute 30 on it tho.
good luck

Reinitializing the 606 is pretty easy.

Hit menu & F3. From there make sure the checkbox is unchecked if you don't want the original samples (remember 'BRING THE BEAT BACK!' and 'WOOOOO'?) to reload or have the stock CD on hand.

Page 80 of the manual describes the process. Download it here.

You're resampling something more than 3mins long? Whoah... Mind if I ask why?

Thanks a lot, man your post was very helpful.

I re-sample entire beats with efx if I want to use more than just 2 efx to shape the sound of a beat. Some of my beats are longer than 3 minutes - as crazy as they may sound to some around here haha
