We all know that these are the mainstay for keeping your SP powered up but what are some successful and cost efficient alternatives? I already had to trash 2 of my PSA-120 T adapters because the cords break off very easily at the wall wart end. I'll have to take a picture to better illustrate this but if your SP has trouble staying powered on, I'm almost 99% sure it's caused by a faulty power cord.

How much damage is done to the motherboards from these glitches? You know, you'll be in the middle of something, you move an inch and your display goes blank.

just match the output specs.. you want the voltage to be exactly the same (and to match whether it is DC or AC.. im pretty sure all the SPs are DC), and the current to be *at least* as much as the official one.. more current is fine, not enough can cause problems... you prob can get away with a bit less than the official one, but its best to avoid this

You can get generic ones from electronic stores for like 15-20$ with switchable plugs that will fit most anything with a normal-style plug... when u put the plug that fits on, just make sure the polarity is the right way round too

it depends on things like your local electricity supply, your house's wiring, etc.. (and the quality of the product.. eg pedals)

I get away without any noise issues here with unregulated supplies, but yeah if u wanna be safe.. go regulated - should only cost an extra $5-$10.. and regulated power supplies are all pretty much the same - there are different quality regulations but you don't need anything crazy.. consumer devices are designed to take pretty shitty power supplies as is, so anything that says regulated will be fine.
