Samples Not Recorded During Sequence
I am having a problem where all of a sudden my samples aren't being recorded when I record a pattern. Did a little searching and found some advice on updating firmware, re-initializing and a link to a youtube video that has been taken down. I have tried upgrading through the SM card on both Mac and PC but still can't record samples in patterns. I tried formatting the card, re-initializing and updating, in various different patterns, still unable to get it to record. Any advice would be appreciated. I have upgraded to 1.02 and have a formatted 128mb card.

hi
welcome
cool nickname (boc?)
well, you tried almost everything; have you just tried to sample things on banks a or b and then record patterns? just this.

Re: Samples Not Recorded During Sequence
Thank you, been a lurker for a while but plan to join in on the discussions, use both 303 and 404 with my MPC, great tag-teams/stand alone samplers.
I have tried sampling a single tone to a/b pads and but still nothing. I have noticed if I update the OS and then format the card I get an Err - 0 that flashes back and forth, do i need to keep the update file on the SM card or am I just experiencing an invalid format and need to try again? I am going to try with a different card and see if something else happens. I first noticed this problem after hooking up my MIDI and trying to record a pattern with using the keyboard controller. After noticing that it didn't record the pattern I tried with the 303 pads, triggering directly, and the problem has persisted since then. I'm also going to try updating the OS via midi instead of SM card just to see if something is going on here.
Thanks again for the help, i'll post any findings I come across in case another user runs into this problem.

Re: Samples Not Recorded During Sequence
Interesting update, I have found out that I able able to record sequencing data on both C/D banks but unable to get anything to stick with A/B internal memory pattern banks. So looks like the card is working fine, somewhat better than the internal. I can record sounds to the A/B banks, so I guess for now I will just record patterns with C/D until I can do some more digging and find the root of this problem.

strange.
c/d work and not a/b.
you can record sounds on a/b pads, but the 303 doesn't recognize midi movements when on pattern mode. a question: the a/b pads don't light at all when they're recorded into a pattern?

Nope I get no return signal from the pads after recording the sequence, I do get them when pressing the pads to trigger the initial sample. When I play through my pattern on C/D they flash on time. This was my original guess that it was recording the midi data but something was messed up with the audio levels of my sample but after successfully recording a pattern and getting normal feedback on C/D I think something is wrong with the midi settings for internal memory. I even tried setting the 303 to original midi factory settings. I have found a work around for now, but will try installing the OS again via midi cable as this is something I have yet to try and wondering if the process will be cleaner then loading from a card.
Could also use this as an excuse to get another 303 or a 404 again
