i just got the sp-303 and although i was aware of its limitations, i discovered that this little box has a lot of character. The effects on it are very very usefull.
I'm still reading tha manual and will have some questions but so far i'm surprised in a good way. I've had all sorts of samplers & studio equipment in the past (hard & soft) but the sp-303 with its limitations is soooo much hands on and immediate to get your thoughts sounding. I haven't figured out the logic in it yet.
Limitation is the mother of creativity !!!

The 303 is an amazing piece of kit. I use it as my sketchbook and start most of my stuff on it. Export stuff out to my MPC and sequence there or layout the loops I made in the 303. I love how simple but versatile it can be, midi it up with a keyboard for some velocity sampling.
