1 question and a few comments...first time poster...SOOOOO glad to see 303 dialogue alive and kicking.
Question:
1) if/when anyone cracks the .SPO file dilemma, would you please let me/this forum know? i love playing with my 303, at home, or out on a gig, but i would LOVE to save the beautiful, tasty fruits of my 303 labor directly to digital, for use in other productions.

2) LOVE THIS FORUM. I read every 303 post last night. Stayed up all night, missed work, trying a few of the tips I didn't know, what fun! So much great, open minded sharing going on here. If/when I have something of value, something that hasn't been said, I'll give back. Youtube is a distant (though valuable) second in 303 help.
3) Related to my question, the closest I got were the following posts, suggesting opening .SPO as raw files...(hadn't seen this mentioned on this forum yet).

There MUST be someone who has successfully done this, OR knows how (ex-Roland/Boss engineer?).
Sorry to be so hung up on this, but I'm in the pack rat side of things, and want to SAVE every sample that I love, at the best quality possible (digital memory is SO cheap, studio time is SO precious...).
I know I can just record out via my RCA's, and can back up my sample banks, so I can play them out again on my 303 (a fun, successful test). BUT THOSE FILES HAVE THE MAGIC IN THEM...no?
3) BIG @$$ Props to everyone giving up the knowledge and helping the beginners...we're all beginners in some way!!! I've been DJ'ing (party, mobile, club, radio) in the 10-15 year range, and slowly getting with the online piece...

you're questions and finds are very intersting
if you do a search on the "search button" on this 303 section, you'll find many 303 owner (as me) askin for 303 fils possible wav conversions or workarounds...
i own cool edit and soundforge but i never tried the "soundounsound RAW files" tricks, i didn't knew that, i will try.

What's wrong with exporting back to wav within the machine? Maybe 303 does not do this. It can be done with the OG404. It dumps the pads you selected to normal wav in the root directory of the memory card.
Edit: I read up on it and it looks like there is no way to export or convert .spo files. My lady has the sp303 and I gave her a VCR to resample into. She never fukks with the pc. Different stokes for different folks.

i tried with cool edit pro, it read them but it's just noise....i have to try different bittrat who knows

thanks for your feedback, and giving the "open a file as a raw format" method a shot, I did as well in an Adobe application, I'm not sure the person suggesting to try it had ever had success with it.
I forgot to mention previously that I had read _every_ SP303 post on this forum before I posted. I have watched nearly every SP303 vid on Youtube. I have scoured the internet, reading anything I could on SP303s, and offered the links to the only possible solution I could find.
I'll be honest, I did not try _every_ combination of bitrate possible, and may pursue this further when more time permits.
I'll let this forum know if I find out anything through my own tinkering, or from others.
