resampling while EXT source is on

Is it true you can resample on the 303 while the Source is on meaning you can play a synth through the input while ur pad is resampling at the same time?

Also is the 303 the Boss of all compression? and why?

yes.
you have to push the pad and the source button at the same time while resampling begins. i don't know if you can add fx to the source pad in that occasion but maybe it's possible. had to try this.

the "Boss of all compression" means something like The best Compression?
personally i like very much compression on the 303, this dipends on the a/d converters on this machine wich give those warm coloured sound. i have also the boss 505 and the compression on that machine is less "coloured". but other people like it for that reason. it's also a matter of taste.

yes, i mean that on the 303 the compression give more "colour" to the sound, it is (the compressor effect) more present, it interferes very much on the sound. in other words your drums are about exploding

The Vinyl sim pretty much is the compression we've been talking about, there is an outside "compressor" effect, but the compressor knob under the Vinyl Sim effect tends to be the popular more gritty, more madlib style compressor
been messing with the 303 and 505 for awhile, and they both have great compressor's, I would just say that it has alot to do with the levels you record your samples at, to get that compression interference sound

be careful using the word 'best'.. as everyone's opinion varies.. better to use characterizing words then decide which of those you want to have
